Hodo Soy Beanery
Fresh Tofu, Soy Milk and Yuba
Oakland, CA
Converting soy haters (including some of our own!) all over the Bay Area, we believe Hodo and its products are a revolution in the soy and tofu world. All it takes is a simple taste of their Soy Milk, Spicy Yuba Strips, or one of their basic tofus - firm, silken, tea-infused - and were convinced youll be a soy convert, too.
From www.HodoSoy.com
As a child in Vietnam, Hodo Founder and Tofu Master Minh Tsai often took a morning stroll with his grandpa to the neighborhood tofu shack. The freshness and artisan-quality of the soymilk, tofu and yuba of his childhood eluded Minh for many years. Finally, in 2004, he founded Hodo Soy with the simple mission of crafting the highest quality, best-tasting, freshest soymilk, tofu, and yuba (tofu skins) possible. After that, then to get its products to customers right away so that they can be enjoyed at the peak of freshness; all the while working to demystify tofu through direct customer education and transparency of their ingredient sourcing, production methods, and philosophy.

Taylor Brothers Farm
Organic Pitted Prunes and Organic Prune Juice
Sutter County, California
From taylorbrothersfarms.com
Taylor Brothers Farms started growing organically long before the word became a household term. In the late eighties, feeling growing concern over the use of manufactured chemicals, John and Richard turned to their father, George, to find out how he farmed prior to the sixties. His advice confirmed their hunch: there clearly was a better way! They started replacing man-made chemicals with compost and cover crops. By 1990, all of Taylor Brothers Farms prunes were being grown organically, and by 1997 all Taylor Brothers orchards were organic.
Says Richard: Organic farming is our first love; its in our blood. We want to offer our consumers a more nutritious and healthy piece of fruit to eat. Organic farming makes it more vitamin and mineral rich. And as for flavor, well, theres no comparison! Taylor Brothers Farms holds several certifications, including from the California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF), the only full service organic certification and trade association providing premier organic certification programs.
